Longoria, the youngest of four sisters, grew up on a ranch in Corpus Christi, Texas. Longoria attended Texas A&M-Kingsville, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. After graduating from college, she entered a talent contest that brought her to Los Angeles, where she was spotted and subsequently signed by a theatrical agent.

“I was in beauty pageants and I did a lot of music videos and things in Texas. I did a lot of modeling, a lot of print modeling. So, I’ve always been in front of a camera. When I came to L.A. with IMTA, which is the International Modeling and Talent Association, they do a talent search and that is how I found my agent. The first day they signed me I had four auditions. It was pretty fast and the fact that I’ve done this in three years seems fast.”

Longoria’s timing couldn’t have been better, and she was determined to see where her acting dreams would take her. Her persistence has certainly paid off. After landing roles on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “General Hospital,” and co-starring on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” she auditioned and won the role of “Isabella” on the popular series “The Young and the Restless.”

“I met Marnie Saitta, the Y&R casting director, in a workshop a year ago and then I took her class about six months before the part was being cast. Then she called my agent and said, “We have this part for a Latin, twenty-five-year-old, sexy woman and we want to see Eva.” I wasn’t even submitted on this audition by my agent. Marnie called and said, “We want to see Eva.” I came and there were about two hundred people. Then it was narrowed down over a period of about three months. Then they rewrote and didn’t know if they were going to use that storyline. We didn’t know what they were going to do. Actually, it was all happening over the Christmas holidays so they said, “Oh, we’re not going to do anything until after Christmas.” By the time everyone got back, they called and said we want to screen test her. I came and screen tested with six girls, six completely different choices. ”

Longoria’s career was successfully launched. She considers herself blessed to have had the opportunity to work on the No. 1 daytime drama. Longoria currently lives in Los Angeles, where she spends her off-time engaging in all types of sports, ranging from rock climbing to motocross and kick boxing to yoga. Pastimes also include salsa dancing, crocheting and home decorating. She has a passion for the study of Latino literature and history, and is politically active throughout California and nationally with various organizations in the pursuit of advancing Latino rights.
